There is a large central waterway, excavated from the desert and running the length of the 3\u00a0km site. More than 12% of the total land area on the site has been given over to this central public space.\u00a0Although much of this area is occupied by the marina water surface, it also includes almost 8\u00a0km of landscaped public walkways.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The\u00a0marina\u00a0is entirely man-made and has been developed by the real estate development firm\u00a0Emaar Properties\u00a0of the\u00a0United Arab Emirates\u00a0and designed by HOK Canada.\u00a0 There is a publicly accessible\u00a0foreshoreway\u00a0around the marina and some sections of public\u00a0oceanway\u00a0along the beach with views to\u00a0Palm Jumeirah. Its largest development is the\u00a0Jumeirah Beach Residence. Dubai Marina opened doors to its only mosque\u00a0Masjid Al Rahim\u00a0in October 2013, which is situated in the southern end of the Marina.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><strong>Masterplan Composition :<\/strong><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:heading {\"level\":3} -->\n<p><strong>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Jumeirah Beach Residence<\/strong><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:heading --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Jumeirah Beach Residence is a 1.7 kilometres (1.1\u00a0mi) long, 2 square kilometres (0.77\u00a0sq\u00a0mi) gross floor area waterfront community located against the Persian Gulf in Dubai Marina. It is the largest single phase residential development in the world and contains 40 towers (35 are residential and 5 are hotels). JBR can accommodate about 15,000 people, living in its apartments and hotel rooms. The Project has 6,917 apartments, from 900\u00a0sq\u00a0ft (84\u00a0m2) studios to 5,500\u00a0sq\u00a0ft (511\u00a0m2) penthouses. The Walk at JBR restaurant and shopping strip, which is adjacent to the beach behind JBR, is a very popular location for Al Fresco dining. There are five hotels, rated as 5 star or 4 star, three of which are purpose-built hotels, while the other two are converted residential towers.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:heading {\"level\":4} -->\n<h4>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>The Walk<\/strong><\/h4>\n<!-- \/wp:heading --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The Walk at Jumeirah Beach Residence is a 1.7-kilometre (1.1\u00a0mi) strip at the ground and plaza level of the complex, it was developed by Dubai Properties, and was completed by 2007 and opened officially in August 2008.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:heading {\"level\":4} -->\n<h4>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>The Beach<\/strong><\/h4>\n<!-- \/wp:heading --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The Beach at Jumeirah Beach Residence is a retail complex being constructed on the beach in front of JBR by Meraas Holding, a company owned by\u00a0Sheikh\u00a0Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the\u00a0UAE\u00a0and Ruler of\u00a0Dubai. The development, comprising four plazas, will occupy the bulk of the beach between the Hilton and Sheraton hotels. The complex houses a number of levels of parking as well as seventy retail and food and beverage outlets, together with entertainment facilities.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:heading {\"level\":4} -->\n<h4>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Dubai Marina Mall<\/strong><\/h4>\n<!-- \/wp:heading --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Dubai Marina Mall\u00a0is a\u00a0shopping mall\u00a0located in the centre of Dubai Marina and is one of the main shopping malls in Dubai. It features 140 retail outlets, spread over 390,000\u00a0sq\u00a0ft (36,000\u00a0m2) of gross leasable space, making it one of the largest shopping malls in Dubai.
